Do you need a licence to drive go karts on roads?

But there are plenty of places to drive a go-kart off public roads. Check Yellow Pages|||You cannot get road tax for a go-kart, as they are not road legal.

You cannot get insurance for a go-kart, as they are not road legal.

You must be 17 years old in order to pass your driving test and obtain a driving licence.

If you try to drive a go-kart on a public road, the police will confiscate it and crush it.|||behave when have u ever seen a go kart on the road let a14 yr old closest u will get is a quad bike|||Sorry mate but you can't drive them on the road. Why not buy one and race it on the track at weekends. Remember thats how most of the great F1 drivers started, look at Lewis Hamilton...|||nope you have to be 16 to be in control of a motor vehicle on public highways in the uk|||Regardless of the law, which makes it illegal, you put yourself and regular drivers of automobiles at grave risk. Notice the word grave as in funeral.

If you have the room to run a go cart or other off-road vechile, go for it. If not, you'll not be happy with it because you'll not be able to run it at its potential.

I bet that if you can find a dealership or manufacturer of such things, one of the first warnings after, :"This May Kill You," would be "not for road use.
