How do you drive go-karts well?

A birthday surprise has been cunningly sprung upon me, I am going to be going go-carting in a indoor circuit of average size driving karts of what i presume to be normal build and power. Ive gone go-carting a couple of times in the past and i wish to know if there are any tips, helpful advice etc more experience d go carters could possibly bestow upon me. Any help gratefully accepted.|||Karts stick to the ground very well therefore you should concentrate on being smooth and braking before corner and accelerating through it. ALWAYS start on the outside edge of the track and cut to the inside of the corner at the apex(the furthest point of turn in) And accelerate out. dont turn the wheel too fast and dont be afraid if the kart feels like it is going to spin. It is good to drive at the limit but not overdrive. Also memorize the track and remember where you start braking and turning in so each lap you can try braking/turning at a different place and see which way is faster. Just relax and have fun. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY! i started at an indoor track and now am a Outdoor Karting National Champion|||try to take the corners like your expecting the go-kart to slide sideways. Lean your whole body into the turns and try to make the go-kart slide. If it doesn't slide at least you know your putting your best effort into it. If it slides, then you have to turn your wheel into the direction of the slide, and ride it like your sliding on the snow. The wheels will eventually grip and shoot you down the track. The most fun part is that you can slide into someone else. If no is is there to slide into, then every thing is cool. If someone is there to slide into, just make sure your front wheels are ahead of theirs, because you will have to really steer hard. But just focus on the turns, and just pretend your driving a little toy and practice trying to make a perfect slide sideways. This is actually what they call "drifting". Also if you can make the go-kart slide. Turn your wheel into the corner way early , and just slide into it sideways, and have fun!|||The best tip is the one they tell you.

Don't hit the brake and accelerator at the same time, when I went go carting i found out the hard way that this causes the kart to skid and makes it hard to control.

Also try and memorise the track, if you know the corners well and try them faster each lap you figure out quickly the fastest that you can take each corner on the track.

And finally don't rub wheels, this makes the kart hard to control and caused me and a friend to crash.|||I'd have to say the outdoor ones are funner, but you have to be extremely cautious on a one of those. You could easily hurt yourself... Or be like me and melt your brother's shoes to his feet... :DD Or have the cops called on you because you made too much noise and when the cops came to our broken down cart, they just looked at us, talked to us, and left. Didn't bother to help. :D We had to push the cart/walk home. :D

Fun times.

Just wear a helmet and watch for possible accidents. And whatever you do, don't speed or make sharp turns. Could tip you over.|||Brake as little and as late as possible, hug the corners so you are right up on the barriers / over the kerbs and keep the throttle planted as much as possible. Most of the time the karts have enough grip that you don't need to come off the throttle much.

Have fun!|||Indoor carts are sometimes lowered in horsepower. No matter what, really, just stick to the inside, block often, and really just get on the other drivers nerves...Spin 'em out if you need to...Or Slam on the brakes! : D (It's what I do)|||Being quick is easy, getting the last few tenths of a second can be difficult. Smooth on and off the pedals. Don't bog down the engine, keep the rpms up as much as possible. Let the kart do the work. They are very easy to overdrive.|||When you go around a corner don't take your foot off the gas just use your brake. That way you still have the momentum and you won't lose power around the turn. Have fun!|||I always just kinda pressed the pedal and drove? Didn't know it was that complicated hah.|||i don't know how
